Lexicons for Life is a live, interactive professional learning experience designed for educators who are ready to step back from oversimplified models of reading and spelling instruction and take a clearer look at how words actually work.
There’s increasing recognition that phonics and phonological awareness instruction can be taken too far, particularly when teaching drifts toward abstract sound-counting tasks that don’t translate into stronger reading, spelling, or writing. Lexicons for Life responds to that moment with a more grounded, linguistically informed approach that connects words, spelling, writing, and meaning in ways teachers can use immediately.
What makes this session genuinely different is its delivery model. Ahead of the webinar, participants are invited into a dedicated course space where they can submit words, questions, and instructional dilemmas they want addressed. That material actively shapes the session itself. Rather than a fixed script, the webinar is built around the real issues teachers bring with them, allowing for depth, relevance, and professional dialogue that simply isn’t possible in a static lecture.
This is a live session only. It is not recorded, and places are limited to preserve interaction, discussion, and responsiveness throughout the two hours.
If you’re finding that the usual questions are no longer giving you useful answers, this session offers a chance to reset the lens and see different patterns emerge, in both instruction and student progress.
