    Hi Lyn,
Once again thank you for the opportunity to do this course. I am very excited and look forward to spending the holidays learning.
    Interesting facts
1: I love reading biographies and Foster care stories.
2: I am hearing impaired and I am awaiting hearing aids. This has impacted on my PD in the past but hopefully it will not be an issue now.

      Hi Debbie,
So nice to see you here.
I too am hearing impaired and just got my first set of hearing aids in December! It’s made such a difference already!
      Best of luck!

        Hi Lyn,
I have my aids and they’re working brilliantly. I have completed the course today and went to print my certificate but unfortunately the certificate has my email name not my professional/personal name. I am technologically challenged and cannot edit it. I am wondering if possible could you edit it to have my proper name on it for my CV etc. My name is Deborah Peters. If it can’t be done on this platform can you edit and please send to my email [email protected]
        Thanks in advance.

    Hello Lyn,
The new platform looks great. I have started this course already, however it is telling me 0% completed, so I will be able to tune in to your sessions again – I love listening to you present, it all makes sense when I hear you explain literacy and linguistics.
    Thank you.

      Hi Sally,
Yes unfortunately course progress is not transferable. In the email that went out to all participants on the old platform, we stated, please screenshot your progress so you can mark it off manually in the new platform. However, if that email went into junk, as I’m suspecting it did with you, there is no way of doing this. Apologies, Sally.

Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m a special education teacher working in western Sydney. I just finished the Language for Life course and I liked it so much that I signed up for another one! I’m hoping this course will help be refine my writing program. I teach a support class for students in Years 7-10 with mild intellectual disabilities so I need to create a sort of Tier 1 / intervention hybrid to help them catch up and reach their potential.

I am currently supporting year 9 students with literacy but have spent a great deal of my career supporting primary school children. I am passionate about phonological awareness and decodable readers. I am excited for this writing PD and hope to be able to get some good ideas that I can transfer into my teaching.

    Hi!
I’m Sam. I’m a primary teacher in Mildura. My main focus is literacy support but I have a few gaps in my knowledge/understanding of pre-writers and how to get them writing.
Grateful for the chance to finally complete this course. Appreciate your flexibility in letting me re-enrol while I try and juggle my time.

Hi Lyn! I am a teaching and learning specialist at Brighton PS in Melbourne. We have a team of teachers working their way through the course at the moment so you might see a few post from BPS over the next few weeks! We have recently shifted our practices from a balanced literacy approach to align with more recent research into the science of language and reading. As we have spent the last two years more focused on reading, we are all looking forward to building our knowledge and expertise in how best to teach writing.
