This presentation analyses some major building-blocks of spelling,  centring on the addition of ‘r’ to vowels. Once the basic vowel + r digraphs are constructed, two sub-topics take that knowledge and expand on it by adding ‘w’ and Final Silent E.

A happy by-product of such activity is the discovery that alternative spellings exist for many of the words generated in the lesson and that there is a framework for organizing and analysing those too.
